Crown Group unveils commercial director

Contract and events caterer Crown Group has officially unveiled David Morris as its first commercial director.

Morris was managing director at Chester Boyd, which was acquired last year by Charlton House.

Charles Morgan, chairman of Crown Group, told Caterersearch: “The world we now live and tender in is all about commercial opportunities, so David’s role will be about developing our approach and communicating what we have to offer."

Crown has picked up business worth £20m in turnover over the contacts’ full-term with deals to provide services at the Barber-Surgeons Hall, the National Army Museum and the Royal Courts of Justice in London in recent months.

Last year the company rebranded as Oriel Group but has reverted to Crown after customer feedback.

However, Kudos Hospitality and Seasoned, which replaced Crown Venue Catering and Crown Society respectively, have remained unchanged.

Other companies within the group include London’s Flying Chef, Missing Ingredients and double Michelin-star holder Midsummer House, which was recently forced to remove foie gras from its menu.
