Irish investors plan luxury hotel in Montenegro

Irish investors have begun demolishing an old hotel in the old town of Kotor, Montenegro, which they purchased for £1.3m.

Dublin-based United Entertainment Partners plans to build an exclusive, modern hotel on the site of the Slavija tourist complex on the Adriatic coast. 

It has chosen English construction company Deerglen Jersey to build a new seven-story hotel in the town, which is protected by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The 8,368sq m complex will be demolished before the beginning of summer, and construction of the new hotel will begin after the summer season.

"The new hotel will feature luxury accommodations nestled in the exclusive old town of Kotor and protected by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site", said Misko Joketic, who represents the Irish company in Montenegro.

United Entertainment Partners also has similar plans to demolish and rebuild the Fjord Hotel in Kotor, which it bought for £4m.
