Wookey Hole Inn, Somerset

Monday 11 October 2004 15:18
Article ThumbnailThis week's prize property, the Wookey Hole Inn in the Somerset village of the same name, could well appeal to a publican with a passion for potholing.

The generously proportioned inn is located opposite Wookey Hole Caves, the popular tourist attraction in the Mendip Hills.

Dating from 1860, the inn was built by the owners of the village's paper mill for the benefit of thirsty local residents and workers.

The property, which was completely refurbished in 1999, has a large open-plan bar and a smaller bar for private parties and non-smokers. In addition, there are five letting rooms - complete with widescreen televisions, video players and CD players - and a large garden at the back seating about 100.

The business is currently run under management, with an annual turnover of £546,788 net of VAT.

Agent Colliers Robert Barry is looking for offers in the region of £850,000 for the freehold interest.

Contact David Watson in the Cirencester office on 01285 852852, or e-mail david.watson@colliersrobertbarry.co.uk for further information.
