Starwood stubs out smoking at its London restaurants

Starwood Hotel and Resorts's three London hotel restaurants are to become non smoking this month.

One-O-One Restaurant, at the Sheraton Park Tower, Knightsbridge; Citrus Restaurant at The Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair; and The Dining Room, at the Sheraton Belgravia will all go smoke free in advance of the pending government legislation banning smoking in public areas in England and Wales in 2007.

The three restaurants, all in luxury hotels operated by Starwood, took the decision to ban smoking following customer feedback and clear demand from guests for a healthy, smoke-free experience when eating.

Colin Bennett, area manager England, at Starwood said the decision was made following customer feedback preferring a smoke-free environment especially when eating.

He added: “The essence of a guest experience at our hotels and restaurants should be one of comfort, and increasingly our guests are demanding a smoke free environment."
