Lexington chefs cook for Ferran Adrià

Lexington Catering chefs were given the honour of cooking for Ferran Adrià, when the world-renowned El Bulli chef visited the London Business School last week.

Adrià was in town to launch a competition for the world's top business students to design an innovative business model for the El Bulli Foundation, which will open in 2014.

The Spanish Michelin-starred chef told guests at the event of his passion for innovation as he set out the unique ideas challenge.

He said that students from participating education institutions, including Berkeley, Columbia, Harvard, and Spanish school ESADE, as well as London Business School, would "compete against me and against the ideas about the future that I have in my head."

Lexington chef-director Rob Kirby joined the caterer's on-site executive chef, Tony O'Brien, and his team to prepare a VIP dinner for 30 covers.

He described the opportunity to cook for Adrià as an honour, adding: "This was a real high in my career. Cooking with all my Lexington stars for the main man Ferran, we kept the menu very simple and honest with real flavours."

The evening concluded with Adrià and Kirby signing and exchanging their published recipe books, A Day at El Bulli and Cook With Kids.
