Westbury hotel appoints executive chef

Former Roux Scholar Andrew Jones is to join London’s Westbury hotel as executive chef, Caterer has learnt.

Jones, who is currently premier sous chef at Claridges hotel, will join the five-star hotel in Mayfair next month.

He is replacing head chef Daniel Hillier and will oversee the property’s dining offer including room service and all of the hotel’s functions, as well as its Artisian restaurant and Polo Bar.

Jones has worked at Claridges for more than 10 years and in 2004 was the Roux Scholarship winner, as part of which he completed a three-month stage at three-Michelin-starred chef Michel Bras’s restaurant in Laguiole in France.

He was also a finalist for the Master of Culinary Arts in 2005.

The Westbury’s general manager Zeljko Stasevic said he was delighted about Jones’s appointment.

“Andrew is one of the most talented chefs in the industry and one with a wealth of experience in working in luxury hotels. He will be a huge asset to The Westbury team,” he said.
