D&D London's receives across-the-board star ratings from the Sustainable Restaurant Association

Paternoster Chop House has led restaurant group D&D London's across-the-board success following its recent evaluation from the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

As a whole, the group achieved a two-star rating (out of a possible three), with most individual sites being awarded this. Paternoster Chop House scored the top mark of three stars, while none of D&D's restaurants failed to place.

Mark Linehan, managing director of the SRA, said: "Diners across the country consistently tell us that, given the choice, they would prefer to eat in a restaurant that cares about how it operates.

"D&D has proved that is not only possible, but makes good business sense, for a restaurant group to run its operation sustainably and efficiently, thereby meeting consumer demand."

The group received particular praise for signing up to Sustainable Fish City in order to demonstrate the group-wide commitment to sustainable sourcing of seafood, as well as purchasing free-range, high-welfare, rare-breed meat from Heron's Farm in Essex.

D&D also organises supplier visits and product knowledge sessions for staff to increase awareness of food provenance.

The SRA was impressed by the group's commitment to conserving energy and minimising all restaurants' carbon footprint through promotion of the Energy Plan, and reinforcing good staff energy-efficiency behaviour.

The assessors also commended the high level of social responsibility, recognising that D&D gives a significant amount of support to local and national charities and provides exemplary workplace conditions for staff.
