Gordon Ramsay Holdings raises nearly £50,000 for charity StreetSmart
Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH) has raised nearly £50,000 for restaurant charity StreetSmart in its 2011 Christmas campaign.
StreetSmart and its sister charity SleepSmart raise money for the homeless by asking diners and hotel guests to add £1 to their bill. Sponsored by Deutsche Bank, which covers all of the charities' administration costs, all proceeds are used for projects supporting people back to employment and sustainable, independent living.
GRH raised more than £48,000 for the charity at its London restaurants, with Plane Food at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 raising more than £20,000. GRH has been a StreetSmart supporter for the past nine years, raising more than £250,000 in total.
Stuart Gillies, managing director at GRH, said: "We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support in helping us to raise this amount for such a worthwhile charity.
"StreetSmart's generous sponsor, Deutsche Bank, ensures that every single penny donated goes directly to helping the homeless and vulnerable."
