Radisson SAS is understood to be close to clinching a lease agreement on the Le Méridien Excelsior hotel at Heathrow Airport.
The four-star, 889-bedroom hotel is one of 11 Le Méridien hotels that the Royal Bank of Scotland took back under its control last year in the wake of Le Méridien’s financial troubles.
If the deal goes ahead, it is believed that the Heathrow hotel will use a Radisson brand not currently used in the UK – possibly Park Inn.
Royal Bank of Scotland is still looking for a new operator for the 1,020-bedroom Cumberland in London, although the name of US firm Starwood has been linked with the hotel.
