A new private members club and restaurant is to be opened in London by Nick Valentine, co-founder of The Cuckoo Club.
Molton House, which is primarily for members, is set to open in Molton Street in October 2008, and counts Tracey Emin, Simon Le Bon and Sadie Frost among its membership committee.
The club is part owned by previous Cuckoo Club founder Nick Valentine along with several silent partners.
Valentine said: “The other owners found the site and approached me in May. We had a meeting and the deal was pretty much done on the spot.
“It’s been a mixture of excitement and severe stress I’m working on a building site and there’s a thousand bits to still do and we open in 11 weeks. Still it’s all good stuff”, he added.
The first floor will include a cocktail bar with a sunken DJ booth and a stained glass peacock display, and the 25-cover restaurant offering modern European cuisine will be located on the second floor.
The basement will be a nightclub, and the third floor an events space. Interiors have been designed by Blacksheep, the team behind the Hermes London headquarters and Voyage’s flagship store and will feature bespoke furniture and cut ice bars.
Mark Fairweather will join the club as general manager after previously working for West End nightclub Movida.
