Our recruitment process within City Inn is fast and effective and produces quality results. We advertise our positions independently and always aim to give the most detailed information about positions in our adverts. Once employed with us our team are guaranteed a Day 1 Induction, an orientation to the company as a whole and 5 days specialised training each year. City Inn aspires to develop people in their careers and not just in their job roles.
To motivate and help our teams to improve we have put into place various events and recognition tools within the business. These include incentive programs both across the properties as well as within the separate departments in the hotels where employees are rewarded and recognised when targets are achieved. Bonus schemes are also a must and our Champion of the Month and Employee of the Year awards give us, as a Company, an opportunity to thank out team for achievements within their roles.
As you can see we value our employees and their development is of great importance to us, for this reason we create individually tailored development programs, have regular appraisals and one to one job chats with all of our team members at all levels of the business. Our training plans are detailed and in depth and help give our employees the opportunities to not only progress within their property but across the Brand.
We care about our team and the small things we do illustrate this, we reward people when they ‘Do the Right Thing’ – a scheme which encourages employees to use their initiative to make a guests stay that bit more special. We get to know each and every employee by issuing ‘Get to Know you Forms’ which tell us a bit about them as a person and not just them as an employee. And when it comes to birthdays every employee always feel special, whether if be a card, cake or bottle of wine, we will let them know we care one way or another.
As a company we see our Company as one that is forward thinking and encourages everyone to ‘think out of the box’. The wide ranging initiatives we have introduced over the last few years demonstrate this. We have in place a modern, informative induction program for all employees. We have recently obtained the Corporate Investors In People (IIP) Award across the brand and are quickly becoming recognised within the industry – for example, within the Caterer we are seen as one of the major players in the hotel business, ranking us the 13th ‘most progressive company in 2005 within the industry.’
