Toptable, the internet booking site, has gobbled up rival london-eating.co.uk, according to a report in The Times.
Founded by Karen Hanton, who is the company’s second biggest shareholder after drinks company Diageo, Top Table’s high-profile backers include Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson and chef Gary Rhodes.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will create a company that handle about four million diners a year and bring in more than £120m of business to its members, according to the report.
