Brakes has launched a competition to find the best young food critic to tie in with its new range of nutritionally-balanced children's meals.
The Brakes Junior Restaurant Critic competition is open to five- to 11-year-olds who are invited to visit www.brakes.co.uk/juniorcritic and write a review of no more than 150 words about the best meal they ever had in a pub, restaurant or leisure venue.
The five best entries, as judged by Brakes and Caterer, will be invited to the London Marriott County Hall hotel on Saturday 30 January 2010, accompanied by a friend and one adult, to enjoy a special Brakes lunch menu prepared by executive chef Christopher Basten.
After lunch, the budding critics will be asked to write a review of their lunch and the judges will decide on an overall winner while refreshments are served.
The winner and their guest, plus accompanying parent or guardian, will receive tickets to nearby attractions the London Eye and Sea Life London Aquarium for that afternoon, and their winning review will be published in Caterer.Brakes is asking anyone in the industry who has a child, or knows of a child of a friend or family member, who is a budding young foodie, to encourage them to take part. The closing date for entries is 30 November 2009.
