COLIN GRAY, vice-captain of the Welsh national culinary team, has retired from competing after nine years. He will
continue his links with the senior and junior Welsh teams in a coaching capacity.
RICHARD THROWER has been appointed area manager for Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire by independent contract caterer Holroyd Howe. He was previously general manager at contract caterer Avenance's City and West End division, based in Mayfair, London.
Recruitment consultant Lister Charles has appointed CATHERINA SCOTT recruitment manager at its Cambridge office. She was previously a consultant at Berkeley Scott, Cambridge. KATE GERRARD has become a consultant at the company's London restaurants division. She was previously a manager at family-owned Rothman's fish restaurant in Chelmsford, Essex.
DARREN HOLLIS has taken over as head chef at Sedgebrook Hall, Northampton. He was previously head chef at the Hilton hotel, Milton Keynes.
Le Royal Méridien Bristol hotel in Warsaw, Poland, has appointed ADRIAN ELLIS as general manager. He was previously general manager at the Le Méridien Changi, Singapore.
PETER BECKWITH has been appointed general manager of the InterContinental London hotel at Hyde Park, London. He joins from the group's Mayfair hotel, where he was also general manager. In return, SHARON KILMARTIN, who was deputy manager at the InterContinental London, has become general manager at the InterContinental Mayfair.
GORDON DEBUS has been appointed assistant food and beverage manager at the Mandarin Oriental, Hawaii. He joins from the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, where he was manager of Michelin-starred restaurant Foliage.
TERESA DUNMORE has joined contract caterer Scolarest as food development manager at its Dunstable, Bedfordshire, office. She was previously a brand development manager with contract caterer Baxter & Platt in High Holborn, London.
JULES BEHARELL has been appointed head chef at the Wyboston Conference and Training Centre, near Cambridge, having been chef de partie at the centre.
The refreshment services arm of contract caterer Aramark UK has appointed HELEN PRIESTLEY general manager for its Wakefield, West Yorkshire, site. Priestley was previously operations manager for the company's food services division, North, in Bradford.
CHARLOTTE FENTON has joined Hawkwell House hotel in Oxfordshire as sales manager. She was previously household co-ordinator at the Garsington Opera, Oxfordshire.
RUSSELL NORMAN has become general manager at Japanese restaurant Zuma in Knightsbridge, London. He was previously general manager at London restaurant Circus. DAMIR LIPA has been appointed bar manager at Zuma. He was previously at the Collection in South Kensington, London.
