Bacon maker takes another four years

Tulip, the Norfolk-based bacon manufacturer, has renewed its staff catering contract with the Catering Partnership for an additional four years. It will generate a turnover of £187,500 a year for the company.

Aramark adds to offshore deals

Aramark has won several new contracts for international and offshore catering. It will supply food to 35 tankers owned by shipping firm OSG, which carry oil and cargo between the USA, the UK, the Far East and Dubai. Annual turnover will be £1.3m.

In the Gulf of Mexico, two platforms owned by drilling company Noble have been added to the three already serviced by Aramark. The deal will generate a turnover of £1m and will see Aramark providing full hotel services.

Also in the Gulf of Mexico, Aramark has won a £350,000-turnover contract to supply the Rowan Midland platform, catering for 70 staff.

Compass buys into Spanish airports

The European Commission has approved plans by Spanish airport retailer Aldeasa to sell part of its interest in restaurant firm Foodlasa to the Compass Group. Aldeasa and Compass Group Holdings of Spain, a subsidiary of the UK-based contractor, will operate the restaurant firm as a joint venture.

Catering Alliance takes its toll on M6

The Catering Alliance has won a 12-month contract to supply catering services to the CAMBBA Construction Group, which is building the £486m M6 Toll motorwayto the north and east of Birmingham.

The contract, worth more than £200,000 in sales per year, is to feed the administration and construction staff. CAMBBA is a joint venture between leading construction firms Carillion, Alfred McAlpine, Balfour-Beatty and AMEC.

Wigan opts for Apetito

Apetito has been appointed by Wigan Council to provide 4,000 meals a week to the borough. As part of the four-year contract, worth £350,000 a year, the company will offer direct home delivery for those requiring ready meals but not eligible for free meals.

T-Mobile adds extra line with Lexington

London-based caterer Lexington has doubled the size of its contract with mobile phone operator T-Mobile. Under the new £4m-a-year, three-year contract, Lexington will run eight staff restaurants, two Starbucks cafés, and reception, vending and hospitality services at all of T-Mobile's UK sites, serving 6,000 employees.
