More than 40% of Londoners say they are eating out less than they were this time last year.
Although a survey conducted by food delivery service Deliverance also found that almost a third of Londoners admitted to regularly spending £120 on a meal for two people with wine.
Other results in the poll showed that:
â- Almost half say they have been served bottled water without asking for it and then been charged for it
â- Two thirds have been served and charged for bread without ordering it and a third for pre-dinner appetizers like olives
â- 60% of people believe London restaurants should scrap corkage charges.
Deliverance recently launched a new kitchen in Herne Hill. It employs 80 chefs, around 30 call centre staff, six customer service staff, 30 packers, eight porters and up to 140 bikers across all of its sites.
