Hilton has sold two of its Scottish hotels to Macdonald Hotels for an undisclosed sum.
Ownership of the 88-bedroom Hilton Aviemore and adjoining 62-bedroom Aviemore Inn in Inverness-shire is set to change hands on 1 October.
All 86 staff at the two hotels, which are members of the Aviemore Highlands Resort consortium, will continue to be employed.
The two properties were previously part of the Stakis portfolio, which Hilton bought in 1999.
A spokeswoman for the chain, which is declining to reveal for how much the properties were sold, said the two properties simply no longer fitted in with what Hilton wanted to achieve.
The chain still had the much larger 175-bedroom Hilton Coylumbridge in the area, and would now focus on developing that, she added.
Hilton’s portfolio in the UK and Ireland now stands at 81, with the chain recently adding five new properties: Manchester Deansgate, London Canary Wharf, London Tower Bridge, Dublin Airport and London Euston.
