Restaurateur Christopher Gilmour is to open a Tuscan restaurant and bar called Pomino in Wandsworth, London, during the second half of October.

Gilmour, who owns Christopher's American Grill restaurant in Covent Garden and the Enterprise restaurant-in-a-pub in Chelsea, said he felt that the Wandsworth area needed an Italian restaurant.

The 100-seat Pomino is on the site of the former Surrey Tavern, on the corner of Bellevue Road and Trinity Road.

Gilmour said the pricing would be "very competitive", averaging £30 a head including wine.
