Arora to develop hotel at Ascot
Arora Hotels is to develop and operate a four-star, 200-bedroom property opposite Ascot racecourse.
Situated on the High Street, the property will be known as the Royal Ascot hotel. Planning permission is currently being sought for the hotel, which will have a restaurant and spa, as well as direct, under-street access to the racecourse.
It the second property that Arora Hotels - privately owned by its founder and chief executive Surinder Arora (pictured) - is currently developing within a sporting environment. Plans are also in the pipeline for the building of the four-star, 170 bedroom Arora hotel at the Kia Oval.
Arora is working in partnership with Surrey County Cricket Club to build the hotel as part of a development at the Oval ground, which will include 2,000 new seats and additional hospitality boxes.
The opening of the hotels in Ascot and at the Kia Oval will increase the number of properties owned by Arora Hotels to nine. Its flagship property is the Sofitel London Heathrow at Terminal Five.
