Brian Foster and Christine Appleford have left Surrey to run the Rising Sun Inn in the Devon village of Sidford.
The property benefits from all-year tourism as Sidford is part of the parish of Sidmouth, a Victorian seaside town on the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline
The substantial property includes a 20-seat lounge bar, a 30-seat dining area, a locals’ bar, a self-contained flat, and four en-suite letting bedrooms on the first floor.
There is also an enclosed trade garden, a courtyard, and a detached skittle alley that doubles as a function room to accommodate 30 seated guests or 50 at a buffet or party.
Stonesmith of Exeter sold the leasehold off a guide price of £125,000 on behalf of George and Margaret Austin.
