The Craft Guild of Chefs has expanded the categories in its 2012 awards, with the addition of the Military Chef of the Year accolade.

Recognising excellence among those feeding the armed forces, the new award will bring the total of Craft Guild of Chefs awards categories to 15, plus the special achievement award.

Craft Guild of Chefs vice president Steve Munkley said feeding the country's military personnel was a demanding and varied occupation, which deserved to be recognised.

"We are looking for someone who has had an outstanding career and achieved excellence over many years of service, or has shown dedication over and above the call of duty in a situation," he said.

The Craft Guild of Chefs awards aim to reward leading talent from across the hospitality industry. The 2012 event will take place on 13 June at Wembley Stadium.

To nominate someone for an award visit www.craftguildofchefs.org before the deadline of 9 March 2012.
