Scott Hessel puts two pubs up for sale after closures

Two pubs belonging to former Roux Scholarship winner Scott Hessel and his wife, Lisa, have been put up for sale.

Property agent Christie & Co confirmed it was marketing both the Old Bore in Risworth, near Leeds, and the Carlton Bore in Carlton Husthwaite, North Yorkshire.

Both pubs closed just after Christmas amid claims that diners were left out of pocket. Customers with reservations at the Old Bore turned up after the New Year to find the doors locked and customers who bought vouchers and cooking experiences as Christmas gifts have been unable to contact the Hessels for a refund, according to the Halifax Courier.

The pubs were also reported to owe money to meat supplier Taste Tradition, which stopped deliveries to both restaurants in November, and grocery supplier Wellock's.
