The leasehold interest on an historic hotel in Rutland - England’s smallest county - is on the market.
The Falcon hotel is in the market town of Uppingham, where the famous Uppingham School was founded during the 16th century when the hotel served as a coaching inn.
The stone-built property offers 25 en-suite bedrooms that include superior bedrooms and a range of suites. One has its own sitting room and private garden and there is also a honeymoon suite complete with original Elizabethan four-poster bed and a Jacuzzi.
Facilities include a 35-seat tapas bar, a 75-seat brasserie that doubles as a function room, a snooker room, an 80-seat garden terrace restaurant. The Oak Room function area can accommodate 60 people theatre-style and, in common with the brasserie, is licensed for civil weddings.
Two floors of the hotel house the two-bedroom self-contained owners’ accommodation.
The Nottingham office of Christie + Co is seeking offers in the region of £250,000 for the leasehold interest in the hotel, which has been held on a 20-year fully repairing and insuring Greene King lease since 2002.
