Clontarf hotel

First-time buyer Joni Stubbs-Thrush has snapped up the two-star Clontarf hotel in the West Shore area of Llandudno, North Wales.

The hotel, which was built at the turn of the 20th century, provides nine letting bedrooms (five en-suite) with views over the sea or the Great Orme headland.

Facilities include a residents’ dry lounge, a 20-seat dining room, and two-bedroom owners’ accommodation.

Local attractions include two beaches, the Victorian pier, the promenade, the Great Orme cable car and tramway, and a dry ski slope and toboggan run. The hotel provides a good base from which to explore the Snowdonia mountain range.

The new owner plans to target a customer base of outdoors pursuits enthusiasts and to upgrade all the bedrooms to en-suite.

The Manchester ofice of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £350,000 on behalf of Pamela Tunstall, who has owned the hotel for the past 20 years.
