Andrew Sinclair from Ayrshire has bought the Knowe Guest House and Tysties Coffee Shop in the Scottish fishing village of Portpatrick.
The village, which is near Stranraer in Dumfries, is a golfer’s paradise surrounded by golf courses and enjoys a temperate climate thanks to the Gulf Stream.
The three-star guest house is on an elevated site overlooking the harbour with views across the North Channel to Ireland.
The main building offers six en-suite bedrooms, a side conservatory that leads into the coffee shop, and two-bedroom owners’ accommodation. There is a separate one-bedroom chalet to the rear.
The new owner plans to run the guest house as a holiday letting cottage but to close the coffee shop.
The Glasgow office of Christie + Co was seeking offers in excess of £445,000 for the freehold on behalf of Mark and Karen Brown, who have bought another coffee shop in the village.
