Grange Hotels is hoping to raise £100,000 to help survivors of the Indian Ocean tsunami in Sri Lanka.
Tony Matharu, the hotel group's managing director, hopes to raise enough money to build two orphanages and an educational facility for children left without families or homes. He recently met with the prime minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickramasinghe, to discuss his plans and tour the disaster area.
"I'm more determined than ever to turn our plans into reality," said Matharu. "This will leave a long-term legacy of our efforts on behalf of the British hospitality industry."
