Bespoke Hotels has launched a “pet-friendly” hotel property as part of the Bermondsey Square redevelopment in the capital.

The pet-friendly pad has an “ambassador” in the shape of Wire Fox Terrier, Alfie, and canine guests get their own welcome card, ribbon-wrapped bone, water bowl and basket.

Bespoke’s Bermondsey Square hotel also offers dog weddings, receptions and specialised doggy dinners.

Eccentric extras continue at the 79-bedroom property with in-room pillow fights, which include a pillow fighter and referee who both arrive dressed in pyjamas, also on offer.

The property itself features 60 deluxe rooms equipped with Apple TV and wet-rooms with Grohe drench showers. There are also four loft rooms with hot tubs and views of the London skyline.

It has been designed by Bespoke’s managing director Robin Sheppard and interior designer David Gabriel.

Alfie's Kitchen, the 90-seat in-house restaurant, is headed up by executive chef Marc Taylor, and will feature an English menu prepared in an open-plan kitchen running the breadth of the building.

Food includes Denhay ham and eggs, Salad of Borough Market vegetables and the “Boris Burger with a Floppy Cheese Fringe”.

The completed Bermondsey Square redevelopment will include 54 new homes, a public square housing Bermondsey Antique Market, a sixty seat art-house cinema, a restaurant and wine bar, a food store and office space.
