New owners have taken over the Pig on the Hill, a family pub at Pusehill, Westward Ho! near the North Devon Coast.
The modern, detached destination inn lies in an acre of grounds on the A39 Atlantic Highway close to the Blue Flag beach at Westward Ho! and the port of Bideford.
It provides seating for more than 90 customers inside across the main bar, the children’s play area, the dining room, the skittle alley and the former brewery area.
It can seat another 90 customers in the garden trade areas. Outside facilities also include two petanque pitches with pavilion, a second children’s play area, and a 40-bay car park.
There is also one-bedroom owners’ accommodation, with planning permission to add extra rooms.
The pub, which enjoys all-year trade, generates 70% of its business from food.
New owners Melanie and John Adey have increased the pub’s opening hours, introduced a new menu, and added a new children’s character ride, pool table and gaming machines. They also plan to erect a conservatory over the patio area.
Stonesmith of Exeter sold the freehold off a guide price of £595,000 on behalf of Simon Curtis and Linda Dillow.
