FCSI members donate £100,000 of equipment to Clink's second prison restaurant in Cardiff

Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) UK & Ireland members have donated more than £100,000 of equipment to the Clink Charity's second prison restaurant, which will help rehabilitate prisoners through front of house and chef training.

The new Clink kitchen, which opens in September at HMP Cardiff, was designed installated by FCSI professional member Duncan Hepburn, of Hepburn Associates, and will feature kitchen equipment donated or subsidised by 17 FCSI allied members

Chris Moore, chief executive of the Clink Charity, explained: "We approached FCSI members to help design and provide the equipment required for the kitchen and we received an unbelievable response."

David Bentley, chairman, said: "The FCSI prides itself on giving back to the industry wherever possible and the work of the Clink Charity is truly inspiring. I'm delighted that our members have helped the Clink meet its equipment requirements and create a fully equipped professional kitchen within the new restaurant in Cardiff."

The Clink Charity is a not-for-profit venture which aims to reduce reoffending rates of ex-offenders by training and placing graduates upon their release into the hospitality industry.
