The husband-and-wife team who ran the George hotel in Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight have left the Michelin-starred property and taken over the Neptune Inn in Old Hunstanton, Norfolk, Caterer can reveal.
Kevin Mangeolles and Jacki Everest acquired the 19th‑century coaching inn, which has a 36-seat restaurant and seven bedrooms, earlier this year and have plans to gradually refurbish the property. A new kitchen is due to be installed early next year.
Chef-proprietor Mangeolles said the menu at the Neptune Inn will be along similar lines to that of the George, with a focus on classic French food made from seasonal local ingredients.
"We were very happy at the George but wanted to branch out and do our own thing," he told Caterer. "The Neptune Inn has given us the opportunity to have a smaller establishment to which we can really give a personal touch in terms of both the food and the service."
