A good game for Bite
Bite, the contract catering arm of food retailer Bigham's, has announced a new contract with the toy and game manufacturer Mattel in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Turnover for the one-year rolling contract is estimated at £90,000. Bite will serve 140 employees and will run the restaurant, vending and hospitality from December.
Happy Hopkinson
Hopkinson Catering has picked up a three-year contract with RS Components to cater at its Corby and Nuneaton sites for 2,500 employees. The deal has an annual turnover of £267,000. The Kenilworth-based caterer is to run a restaurant, coffee shop and hospitality at Corby and a restaurant and hospitality at Nuneaton. Catering Alliance previously held the contract.
Milburns in good art
Milburns, part of Compass Group, has won a contract renewal for a further seven years to provide catering and hospitality at the Royal Academy of Arts at Burlington House, London. The new deal has a total turnover of £15m. Milburns will operate the 120-seat newly refurbished public restaurant (see Just Opened, page 20).
A brace for Buckley
Scottish contractor Buckley Support Services (BSS) has announced two three-year contract wins with total turnover of nearly £2m. The deals are with BAE Systems at Prestwick Airport, Glasgow, to cater for 1,500 staff at three catering outlets, plus vending and hospitality. Sodexho previously held the contract. In Glenrothes, BSS will serve 500 employees of CRC Group. The catering was previously in-house.
Audley cue
Audley End house and gardens in Essex has opened as a new venue for corporate and private hospitality events. English Heritage and event caterer Crown Society co-hosted the launch of the 17th-century former Royal palace as a venue last month. Audley End's preferred caterers include Crown Society, Trish Turner, and Carte Blanche.
