London Restaurant Festival Award winners revealed

Quo Vadis, Hélène Darroze at the Connaught and Thomasina Miers’s Wahaca were among the winners at the inaugural London Restaurant Festival Awards, held at Soho House’s new Shoreditch restaurant Pizza East last night.

To mark the end of the week-long Festival, members of the public were asked to vote on their favourite restaurant menus designed especially for the event.

Farringdon’s St Germain restaurant won the best two-course lunch for £10 menu; Quo Vadis won the £15 category; while Hélène Darroze picked up an award for her £25 lunch menu.

Elsewhere, six categories were created to celebrate those who have made a significant contribution to London's standing as a culinary destination.

Wahaca won the ‘Discovery’ award, which is aimed at highlighting restaurants which have broadened diners’ culinary horizons, while Portobello Pizzeria won the ‘Fun’ award, awarded to a restaurant which revels in making meal-time a lively experience.
