Golden Tulip to launch new luxury hotel brand in Bucharest by 2008

Dutch international hotel chain Golden Tulip wants to build a new five-star property in northern Bucharest by 2008.

The hotel will be launched under the Royal Tulip brand, a new luxury designation the company intends to take international soon after.

Paul Marasoiu, the regional manager of Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts for Romania and the Republic of Moldova, did not specify who the developer of the project would be, but insisted on the need for another 4,000 hotel rooms in the capital in all quality categories.

According to analysts, an additional 1,500 five-star hotel rooms are currently needed in Bucharest.

Golden Tulip Hospitality, headquartered in Amersfoort, the Netherlands and Lausanne, Switzerland, owns Golden Tulip Hotels, Inns & Resorts, which franchises more than 200 hotels in 40 countries, with a majority of the hotels located in urban areas in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
