The EMCD2900 is Sanyo's first commercial combination microwave oven and brings together an 800W microwave, a 1,300W convection output and a 900W grill.
The compact model, with stainless-steel external and internal finishes, combines external dimensions of 315mm high x 520mm wide x 464mm deep with an internal capacity of 18 litres.
The three cooking modes - convection, microwave or a combination of both - cover most cooking requirements, and the machine can regenerate bread and pastry-based items at the touch of a button. It can cook ready-made pies and frozen pizzas in four minutes and panini sandwiches in two minutes.
The control panel combines a touch pad and electronic dial providing up to 50 preset programmes of up to three stages each.
Energy-saving and safety features include a compact cavity, measuring 165mm high x 330mm wide x 330mm deep, and automatic shutdown after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Sanyo's sole UK distributor, Valera, also stocks seven microwave ovens by the Japanese manufacturer that range from the light-duty 1,000W EMS 1000 to the large, heavy-duty, 1,900W EMC 2001.
