Athenaeum hotel London confirms redundancies

The Athenaeum hotel in London has confirmed that three members of staff in the sales and marketing department are facing the threat of redundancy.

“A consultation exercise, which is looking at the restructuring of the sales and marketing team, is currently being undertaken,” said a hotel spokesperson. “No firm decision has been taken, but we are considering the needs of the hotel and the balance of the staff.”

A decision is expected to be taken within the next month.

Owned by Ralph Trustees, the 113 bedroom, five-star property has recently completed a £10m refurbishment which has involved an upgrade of the bedrooms, refurbishment of the dining room and bar, creation of a three bedroom rooftop suite and a vertical garden.

Ralph Trustees also own The Grove hotel in Chandler’s Cross, Hertfordshire, and the Runnymede-on-Thames hotel in Egham, Surrey.
