Danish sushi group Sticks'n'Sushi to open restaurant in Wimbledon
Danish sushi restaurant group Sticks'n'Sushi is to make its UK debut with the opening of a restaurant in south London.
The group, which has nine restaurants in Denmark, will open its first UK site in Wimbledon on 14 March.
It will serve a menu combining sushi and dishes from the yakitori grill, with the average spend around £22 a head. In addition to traditional sushi and sashimi options, typical dishes will include soya-marinated salmon with miso mustard dressing and tempura shrimp bites with miso aïoli, chilli and coriander as well as scallop teriyaki and miso-marinated Hamachi.
The interior of the 100-cover restaurant will be developed by Diener & Diener, including a central bar as well as a 10-seat private sake room. Housed in a former coach house, interiors will feature brick walls, sharing tables with locked wheels and leather coverings.
Founded 18 years ago, Sticks'n'Sushi is owned by brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek and Thor Andersen.
