Orchid to extend its Pizza Kitchen & Bar concept to a further 25 sites

Pub company Orchid is set to extend its Pizza Kitchen & Bar (PKB) concept to a further 25 sites after it showed strong like-for-like trading growth of 10% at existing sites.

The offer sees a section of Orchid pubs being turned over to the production of unusual pizzas with global flavours, such as the Indian Banquet pizza which offers spiced king prawns and chicken with onion bhajis, finished with spiced mint yogurt and fresh coriander.

Orchid said it had identified a further 25 pubs for conversion, and the entire programme is expected to take three months.

Rufus Hall, Orchid's chief executive, said: "PKB is a real genre-buster and a key focus for Orchid in 2012; we see a very bright future for the division".

"The new Pizza Kitchen & Bars will be a mix of community and high street locations. They will build on our focus for high quality and value for money, as well as innovation, range and of course our legendary fresh pizzas."
