Platts-Martin in Notting Hill venture

Leading restaurateur Nigel Platts-Martin is planning a new venture in what was formerly Notting Hill's Dakota restaurant.

Platts-Martin acquired his fifth London property from the Hartford Group earlier this year, and is currently working on plans for the site. Partner in this venture is Philip Howard, chef and co-owner with Platts-Martin of the two-Michelin-starred the Square in Mayfair.

The last project from Platts-Martin was La Trompette in Chiswick, which he owns with partner, chef and restaurateur Bruce Poole. The duo are also behind Chez Bruce in Wandsworth and the Glasshouse in Kew, both of which have one Michelin star.

The four restaurants received seven nominations and two awards at this year's Tio Pepe London Restaurant Awards. Chez Bruce was recognised with the London Restaurant Academy Award of Excellence and La Trompette received best wine list.
