Are you ambitious with the commitment and drive to be the best in your field? Are you looking for a challenge and keen to learn new skills, but unsure of how to gain the support you need?

The Acorn Scholarship could be the answer. The scholarship - developed by the Acorn Club Committee, a group of previous winners of Caterer and Hotelkeeper’s Acorn Awards – is designed to seek out individuals within the catering and hospitality industry whose potential has yet to be realised.

The Acorn scholarship, now in its fourth year, has already given numerous people the boost they needed to achieve their dreams and this year could be your chance to fly.

The winner will become involved in the Acorn Club Committee, taking the ambassadorial mantle for their scholarship year, with the opportunity to meet and network with key industry players. The winner will also receive the following:

• Up to 12 paid personal development 90-minute masterclass training courses courtesy of Learnpurple
• Funds towards achieving their dream or ambition
• An all-expenses paid trip to the USA, courtesy of Aramark
• An all-expenses paid trip to Luxembourg to visit Villeroy & Boch’s chateaux and porcelain factory

Entry details
• You must be over 16 years of age
• You must be a UK resident
• You must be available on the 11 and 21 November, 2005
• Closing date is 3 October 2005
• The finalists will be advised by phone or e-mail during the week commencing 17 October 2005

How do I qualify?
In order to qualify you must have a genuine dream or ambition which will not only advance your career but will contribute to the hospitality industry as a whole. The Acorn Scholarship is self-nominated but you MUST have the support and backup of your employer as there is a commitment of time during the reigning year. It is open to anyone over 16 years of age. UK residents only. All applications received by the closing date will be reviewed and the most inspiring and practical will be short-listed. There is only one winner each year and the selection process for this lucky person, is in three parts.

PART 1
Open to all
• The submission of your application in writing

PARTS 2 & 3
For the short-listed entrants:
• A presentation of your dream or ambition to a panel of judges on 11 November 2005 at Aramark head office, Millbank Tower, London.
• Your attendance at a presentation lunch on 21 November 2005 at the De Vere Belfry, Wishaw, North Warwickshire, where the winner will be announced.
