ParentPay and Myschoollunch.co.uk join forces

Online payment system ParentPay and primary school healthy eating forum myschoollunch.co.uk have joined forces to help parents monitor their children’s diet.

Caterersearch.com’s website of the year, myschoollunch.co.uk, which is aimed at raising parental awareness about school lunches, will now provide access to cashless payment system ParentPay.

Clint Wilson, chief executive of ParentPay, says the two websites are perfectly suited to operate in tandem: “We have 500,000 accounts and we collect £50m a year for schools. That’s a lot of visitors coming to our site and it seems silly to be pointing parents to one platform to pay and another to find out about healthy eating and what’s on the menu at their child’s school.”

Arnold Fewell, managing director of AVF Marketing, which created myschoollunch.co.uk, said he was very excited by the partnership and was looking forward to developing new products with ParentPay to help increase Primary School meal numbers.

He added. “Marketing via online media is the future and I know this link up will bring many other benefits to school caterers and headteachers, such as saving on administration time.  The website is already a huge success and there will soon be over 30 local authority MySchoolLunch sites.”

Using foraged ingredients is nothing new but the trend has become more mainstream over the past two years. However, the wider use of foraged food in restaurants also carries a certain amount of danger.
