Nominations for the fifth Shine Awards, which recognises female talent in travel, tourism and hospitality are now open.
Nominations for next year’s awards come as People 1st launches Women 1st – an initiative aimed at promoting the development and retention of women in the industry.
Alessandra Alonso Director of Shine P&P, said that the awards represent “a real leap forward,” with People 1st pledging its support by co-sponsoring the awards for the next three years.
Alonso also announced a new mentoring initiative involving the winners of previous Shine Awards who will act as mentors for young professionals graduating from the London Metropolitan University.
The ten Shine Awards categories reflect changes experienced in the working environment in recent years such as new additions Shine Homeworker of the Year; Shine Woman Technology Innovator of the Year; Shine Woman of the Year for Sustainable Tourism and Shine Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
