Restaurant Associates receives MSC certification at all of its clients' restaurants
Restaurant Associates (RA) has today revealed that it has received MSC certification at all of its clients' restaurants.
The caterer, part of Compass Group, provides executive dining services to companies across the capital. It also works with consultant chefs to deliver food at a number of top London restaurants.
RA serves 250,000 customers a day at more than 100 sites, all of which will now be serving certified sustainable fish and using the MSC eco-label on their menus.
Andy Harris, managing director of RA, said: "A year ago, we signed the Sustainable Fish City pledge, committing to achieving MSC certification across all of our restaurants. Today's announcement represents the fulfilment of that goal and I am exceptionally proud of all of our teams that have been working so hard to make this happen."
Helen Tiwari, UK commercial manager for the MSC, added: "By exposing a quarter of a million people to certified sustainable fish, they will be helping to transform the global seafood market to a sustainable basis.
"Restaurant Associates' hard work and commitment will send a message right back down the supply chain to the fishermen working at sea that MSC certification is worth the effort and worth the changes they may have to make to achieve it."
Restaurant Associates and the MSC have worked in partnership to create a wide range of marketing collateral for use across its 100 plus client sites. This includes information about the MSC and its work, case studies on MSC fisheries and recipe cards for customer to take home.
