Avenance bags MoD contracts

Thursday 15 December 2005 00:00

Contract caterer Avenance has won its first Ministry of Defence contracts, worth a combined turnover of £71m over the next seven years.

The contracts to provide catering and soft facilities management services for 13,000 army personnel will run from the start of 2006 until January 2013. Both have extension options for a further three years.

The latest win, signed last week, covers four army barracks in Kent and is worth a total of £29m. Last month the group scooped a £42m contract to service four barracks in the East Midlands and Swanton Morley in Norfolk.

Avenance will look after accommodation, cleaning, tailoring, waste management and laundry on top of catering, hotel, leisure, mobile and retail services. It will also invest in upgrading existing shops, bars and catering outlets.
