Compass Group appoints marketing director for UK and Ireland

Contract caterer Compass Group has appointed John Pain to the role of marketing director for the UK and Ireland.

Pain, who will take up his position next month, joins the company from Yum! Brands, where he held a number of senior roles, most recently vice-president of marketing for KFC Asia Pacific. In this role he was responsible for a $2b (£1b) system sales business with 2,500 restaurants across 11 countries.

Previously Pain was vice-president of food for Taco Bell as well as marketing director for Yum! Brands in the Middle East and North Africa.

At Compass, Pain will report to Compass UK and Ireland group managing director El-Mokadem, who said:

“This new role on our executive team highlights our commitment to remain the most customer-focused player in the catering and support service business.

“Pain’s exceptional experience of new product and brand development will be an invaluable addition to our team.”
