Galvin Demoiselle opens in Harrods

London department store Harrods this week opened a new restaurant with Michelin-starred restaurateurs Chris, Jeff and Sara Galvin.

Galvin Demoiselle, which is located on a mezzanine level overlooking the store's fruit and vegetable hall, is being overseen by Chris's wife Sara, who has worked with the existing Harrods team.

Occupying the former Espresso Café, Galvin Demoiselle can accommodate up to 60 diners, featuring banquette seating and colours of sage and rust.

The menu offers French cuisine, including a signature dish of baked lobster fishcake served with warm vinaigrette of fresh ginger and chives. Other dishes include wild mushroom velouté with cepe brioche; slow cooked Cornish lamb with apricots, almonds and cous cous; and baba au rhum with Chantilly cream.

Galvin Demoiselle is the Galvin's fifth London restaurant after Bistrot de Luxe, Galvin at Windows, Galvin La Chapelle and Café a Vin.

The opening marks the first in a series of new restaurant launches at Harrods, with Irish chef Richard Corrigan set to take over the Sea Grill in the meat and fish hall to open a Bentley's outlet in May.

Meanwhile two new Asian restaurants will open in April in collaboration with restaurateur Eddie Lim and Gilgamesh chef Ian Pengelley. South East Asian restaurant Pan Chai and Thai eatery Mango Tree will open in the first week of April.
