Oxford Hotels & Inns plans investment programme

Oxford Hotels & Inns has announced plans for a multimillion-pound investment programme across its chain of 60 hotels.

The group, which formed in September 2006 following the collapse of London & Edinburgh Inns, said it has begun a £4m development scheme and plans a further £2.3m upgrade later in the year.

The investment programme will see refurbishment projects take place at existing hotels as well as the acquisition of selected new sites.

Current developments comprise the recent purchase of Stonefield Castle on Loch Fyne and a string of overhauls across the Scottish portfolio which includes the Gleddoch Country House Hotel near Glasgow, the Huntly Arms in Aberdeen and the Carnoustie Golf Hotel.

Mark Edwards, managing director of Oxford Hotels & Inns, said:  “Our expansion plan is a key development in our programme to firmly establish ourselves in the UK.

“We currently have more than 60 hotels across the country and are looking to improve a number of our properties which include refurbishments and expansions within our existing portfolio and, where appropriate, strategic and selective acquisitions.”
