Hilton Worldwide launches major recruitment drive

Hilton Worldwide is launching a major recruitment drive to fill 700 vacancies in the UK, as well as expanding its apprenticeship scheme to provide training opportunities for a further 100 young people.

Jobs are available at from entry level to management roles and include engineers, chef apprentices, cocktail mixologists and hotel managers.

The company is working with the National Apprenticeship Service to expand its current apprenticeship scheme with the launch later this year of a new programme that will specialize in the art of hospitality and hotel operations. It will create 100 new opportunities, in addition to the Chef Apprenticeship Academy, which is currently recruiting for 60 budding chefs and has trained 60 apprentices to date.

With 18 new hotels planned to open in the UK, it is expected that Hilton Worldwide will create a further 1,500 jobs over the next three years.

Ben Bengougam, vice-president HR, Europe, Hilton Worldwide, said the company was looking for people with a good work ethic and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. "In return, we provide a fun, exciting, varied and supportive environment to prosper and grow, offering world-class training and development programmes to enable our people to fulfil their potential."

Minister for Employment Chris Grayling praised Hilton Worldwide's initiative. "Youth unemployment is my biggest priority in government and I have asked business to join us in giving real opportunities to young people," he said. "Hilton Worldwide is a great example of what businesses can do by offering jobs, apprenticeships and key skills for people trying to find work."

Hilton Worldwide's employment opportunities will be showcased through Careers@HiltonLive, a week-long series of events across the UK and Europe, which kicks off today. Activities include career speed dating with industry experts, how to prepare a top-class CV, advice on interview techniques and a live careers chat on Facebook.

Further information on Careers@HiltonLive events is available at www.facebook.com/hiltoncareers.
