Amanda Scott takes job at Excelsior hotel in Hong Kong

Amanda Scott, the former general manager of London’s Waldorf hotel, has moved to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as GM of the Excelsior hotel in Hong Kong.

She will take up the reigns from today.  Scott, who had been at the Waldorf for five years, previously worked with Copthorne Hotels in the UK, and was general manager of both The Copthorne Hotel, Aberdeen and The Copthorne Hotel, Glasgow as well as the general manager role for The Millennium Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge.

Andrew Hirst, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group's operations director, Asia said: “Amanda has the character and experience to build on the hotel's reputation as one of the city's best places to stay for either business or leisure. We are delighted to welcome her to her new position as general manager of The Excelsior, Hong Kong where she will lead a dynamic and quality focused team.”

Scott is a Master Innholder and was appointed vice-chairman and president of La Reunion des Gastronomes in 2006. She has been a Fellow of the Hotel & Catering International Management Association since 2003 when she was awarded Freedom of the City of London.
