Regent Inns has appointed Russell Scott to the board of managing directors, with effect from 1 September.
Scott is currently chief executive and a majority shareholder of Brandasia, an Indian restaurant franchise. Between 1999 and 2004 he was managing director of Scottish & Newcastle’s branded pubs business, comprising more than 300 outlets.
Prior to joining Scottish & Newcastle, Scott was chief executive of Capital Radio Restaurants for two years, with responsibility for 98 restaurants. Between 1992 and 1997 Scott was chief executive of Harry Ramsden’s, during which time the company grew from four restaurants to 31 in the UK and internationally.
Commenting on the appointment, executive chairman of Regent Inns, Bob Ivell said: “We are delighted Russell is joining Regent. His experience in the leisure sector will be a great asset to the company.”
