‘Brunel University, invites expressions of interest from caterers with evidence of success in the Higher Education sector to operate the catering outlets and facilities, including restaurants, cafes, conference and hotel-type services, and the University general retail store.
The catering, conferences, hotel and retail services are a central element of University life and are currently delivered in-house. These services deliver support to 18,000 students, 2,500 staff and many additional visitors, particularly those associated with the annual Summer Schools activities and large academic conferences.
A market test is being conducted to identify the delivery options that offer the best value for money and an in-house bid will be submitted. The contract period would be 5 years with an option of a further 2 one year periods and would be expected to start in September 2012.
